Commissions and Bespoke Projects
What kinds of things are possible?
-
A matched set of handmade glass beads built around your chosen colours, theme or story, cleaned and ready to hand over to your own jeweller or turned into a bespoke piece of silver jewellery in my workshop.
-
A statement necklace or simple pendant, with glass beads mounted/set in silver or strung with sterling silver findings.
-
Matched pairs in glass and sterling silver, made to suit your style.
-
Large-hole beads designed to fit European-style Charm Bracelets. Build a collection one bead at a time, or commission a themed set.
-
A piece that holds a memory: a favourite colour, a place, a flower or a moment. Memorial beads can be made incorporating a small amount of cremation ash providing a everlasting keepsake of a beloved family member or pet.
-
If you can picture it, tell me. I’d love to hear about it.
Examples of Commissions
How does the process work?
-
Get in touch about your project. You can use the contact form at the bottom of this page.
What’s it all about? Do you want something for yourself or is it a gift. Is it for everyday, a statement piece, or to mark a milestone?
-
We talk about what you want your piece to do and be.
I’ll ask about your style, the clothes you wear and the jewellery you already own and how the new piece will fit.
For glass, colour is a big part of this conversation.I make a note of critical measurements needed.
We discuss timescales. Most commissions take 4 weeks or so. I have a ‘Make List’ and only when the project is confirmed the job goes on the list.
-
We confirm price, timescale and cost of delivery.
Once we’ve agreed to go ahead I ask for deposit to secure your slot and cover materials
-
I gather inspiration, do research, sketch ideas and choose materials to best complete the project
-
I make your beads at the torch, anneal them in the kiln and, if your piece includes silver, work on the metalwork in my jewellery studio. I’ll send photos along the way if appropriate
-
I’ll send you a photo for approval before you settle the final payment.
Your piece then comes to you carefully gift-packaged, by special or tracked delivery or personal collection.
